Da Giverny agli Stati Uniti, nel segno di Claude Monet 17 Febbraio 2019
Fino al 27 maggio, il de Young Museum di San Francisco ospita una mostra che ricostruisce la fase conclusiva della carriera artistica di Claude Monet. Sono esposti una sessantina di dipinti realizzati nella casa del pittore a Giverny, a stretto contatto con la natura e le sue trasformazioni stagionali. Nei lavori risalenti a questo periodo si possono scorgere "cambiamenti fondamentali nella tonalità e nell'intensità della sua tavolozza", caratterizzata da "combinazioni di colori vividi e da un'applicazione del colore più ampia e più evidente", come ha osservato il curatore George T. M. Shackelford, nonché vicedirettore del Kimbell Art Museum. Proprio in questo museo, l'esposizione verrà riallestita dal 16 giugno al 15 settembre.
