The Vessel e The Shed: le due nuove icone architettoniche di New York
A New York, continua a prendere forma il complesso residenziale e commerciale Hudson Yards. Solo poche settimane di distanza separano l'inaugurazione dell’ambiziosa scultura-torre Vessel, sviluppata da Thomas Heatherwich, e del centro culturale polifunzionale The Shed. Situate una accanto all'altra, entrambe le strutture si candidano a nuove icone architettoniche delle città statunitense, anche per la loro spiccata capacità di oltrepassare limiti e convenzioni. The Shed, ad esempio, è stato progettato dallo studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro ed è trasformabile, grazie allo spostamento del suo guscio mobile.
